As a nonprofit, Albany Helping Hands is dependent on donations for every aspect of day-to-day life at the shelter. Everything from our food (3 meals a day plus snacks), hygiene supplies, laundry supplies, to our clothing, giveaways are made possible because of supporters generously donating.
There are many ways for you to help us keep running:
o Checks/money orders (to Albany Helping Hands)
o Cash (Be sure to ask for a receipt)
o Credit/debit cards (Online albanyhelpinghands.com or call and ask for the Finance Manager)
o All unopened, unexpired items are accepted at the Shelter. If you have questions call and ask for the Kitchen Manager.
o Shampoo & conditioner (hotel sizes are WONDERFUL!)
o Body wash & bars of soap (hotel soaps are GREAT!)
o Deodorant (male and female)
o Laundry detergent & dryer sheets
o Feminine products
o First-aid products
o If you can think of it, we can useit!
o New, adult-sized items (shirts, sweatpants, socks,underwear, and bras) can be donated at the Shelter. All intakes are given a fresh, clean set of clothing to get them started.
o Gently used and clean clothing items are also welcome.
It is our goal at AHH to assist every person in their journey toward becoming a contributing member of society. First and foremost, we desire that they have a relationship with our Lord and Savior. You would be surprised how much a set of clothes; a meal and prayer can take a person. Thank you for wanting to be a part of their journey also.
All donations are tax deductible. AHH is a 501C3 nonprofit organization.
