Our Mission

Demonstrating the love of Jesus for people by providing basic needs, encouraging faith, and giving hope for a brighter future.

The mission of our organization

At Albany Helping Hands, we are committed to demonstrating the love of Jesus by meeting the basic needs of those facing homelessness in our community. Through faith, compassion, and support, we help individuals rebuild their lives, offering a pathway to independence and a brighter future. Our mission is not only to provide shelter but to empower and guide those in need toward lasting change. Join us in making a difference.

Case Management and Support

Each individual receives personalized support from case managers who help them set goals, find employment, and manage life skills to rebuild self-sufficiency.

Life Skills Training

We offer workshops and resources to help individuals learn essential life skills, such as budgeting, time management, and cooking, to prepare them for independent living.

Job Readiness and Placement

Albany Helping Hands helps individuals gain the skills and confidence needed to secure stable employment through job training, resume building, and job placement assistance.

Faith-Based Support

We provide spiritual encouragement through faith, helping individuals build a sense of hope, purpose, and self-worth as they work toward regaining independence.

Mentorship

Graduates of the program return as mentors to those currently going through the process, providing valuable guidance, encouragement, and hope.

Substance-Free Environment

Albany Helping Hands maintains a drug-free environment to support a healthy, stable recovery process and provide a safe space for individuals to focus on rebuilding their lives.

Building Bridges to a Brighter Future

At Albany Helping Hands, we build bridges to a brighter future by offering more than just shelter. We provide the tools, support, and guidance individuals need to regain their independence and create lasting change in their lives.

Pathways to Independence

The journey to self-sufficiency begins with stability. In the first month at Albany Helping Hands, individuals receive structured support to help them take meaningful steps toward independence. From job readiness programs to life skills training, we walk alongside them as they build a future of stability and success.

Nourishing the Community

Food is more than a necessity—it’s a source of hope and connection. Each year, we provide over 80,000 meals to those in need, ensuring no one in our care goes hungry. Your support helps us continue this vital work, whether through donations or volunteering to serve meals to our neighbors in need.

Besides meals, we support our community by providing a Narcotics Anonymous Group.
Join us for a Narcotics Anonymous (NA) meeting every Monday night at Albany Helping Hands. Open to the public, this supportive gathering runs from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM, offering a safe space for connection and recovery.

Support Us!

At Albany Helping Hands, we believe in the power of second chances. Life can take unexpected turns, and we’re here to help individuals rebuild their lives, restore their dignity, and find hope for a brighter future. Join us in the journey to empower and transform lives, as we offer more than shelter—we provide a lifeline, guiding those in need toward a path of renewal and change. Together, we can make a lasting impact and give others the opportunity to take their first step toward a better tomorrow.
