The money from the store goes directly back into operations of the facility. Often into kitchen expenses or just keeping the lights on.
Donated monies are what keep us running. Our money is used to serve our residents (clients) in multiple ways. We provide 3 hot meals, often snacks, laundry services, hygiene products and showers, free clothing, limited transportation and just keep the lights on and the heat pumping.
Absolutely not. We offer all residents free clothing. We also allow non-residents to request clothing while at the thrift store.
We are not associated with any other shelters. We do reach out and often have shelters contact us when we or they cannot provide what a person needs.
New foods are accepted. We will take any kind you are offering. If you have questions about it contact Daniel or Elizabeth (used to be Terra) via our contact form.
We are one of only two shelters in Oregon that will house former (YES, FORMER) Sex Offenders. For their safety and comfort, we do not house children. We do however have the Bailey House which houses single mothers and children.
Gently used clothing. Financial donations are always great. Functioning: kitchen items, Automotive items, furniture, toys, etc. For more inquiries contact our thrift store.
Yes, we are a nonprofit organization and all moneys and items are tax deductible.
People are allowed to stay until they are ready to move back successfully into society. We have people who have been here for a few weeks to a few years. We do our best to help them on their journey wherever they might be.
AHH is a faith-based organization. We are a clean and sober living facility. In order to stay you must be willing to commit to living without drugs and alcohol. Yes, this does include pot. We do not charge for our services. People under our care will be asked to help with some kind of chore or assignment until they have a full-time job. The biggest part of staying is that we see you are willing to work with your case manager and follow the rules and policies.
We provide 3 hot meals, often snacks, laundry services, hygiene products and showers, free clothing, limited transportation, and our case managers help them connect with mental health professionals, doctors, lawyers, etc.
The Bailey House is a shelter for single mothers and children. They have their own room but share a kitchen, living room, and laundry area. There is also a communal eating area. For more questions contact Elizabeth via our contact form.
